Seed House, Inc is housing to 10-15 families and the transformation to stable housing to resolve complex, relational, and financial conflicts they are facing. Our programs aim to permanently end the homeless cycle of this and future generation with the entire individual and families. This is how it functions:
We expect all families to have full-time jobs for their families and part-time jobs if they are receiving SSI just in case hardship if not full disabled. We work with neighborhood leaders to educate every parent, resume building, prepare interviews and offer coaching for quality jobs.
Each adult provides weekly personal advice and counseling for all Two-parent families,
Many children have experienced social-emotional trauma related to homelessness throughout our program. We offer an imaginative on-site program for children which provides education support, enrichment in education systems, structure, and a sense of ownership. Mentoring, family support, and other programs for children's personal, mental, social, and physical needs are stressed in the curriculum. That includes games, recreational play, field trips, school tours, snacks, reading, ethically sourced sports, internet use, etc.
Our initiative's ultimate objective is sustainable accommodation, where our shelter coordinator partners with each family at Seed House, Inc, in its duration. The housing coordinator puts together the families with lodging that relates to the family's needs and budget. We also work with landlords and management staff and advocate better budgeting along with management skills among families. Once the family has found a home, a case manager offers to track treatment, monitors financial management development, housing assistance, and the family's mental well-being.
Seed House, Inc. uses its own efforts through collaborations. This includes but is not limited to NAMI, Community Alliance, Alliance Health, AIMS Clinics, Colonial Hearing, Speech, and Vision Center, Memphis CHILD, TN Voices Programs, MY LOVE APARTMENTS, Agape Means Love.
